Imagine the perfect hotel room. What does it look like? Of course the bed has to be big and comfortable, with giant, fluffy pillows. The champagne should definitely be ice cold and the view worth a million bucks. Now, do you see any plastic? No? Good. Neither do we!
It’s no secret that we love sustainability. So when Hilton Benelux reached out to us to be part of a project that was all about ‘cutting down on plastic’, of course we said yes. Meaning: Wooden Amsterdam is now part of the first Plastic Free Room in the world! On the eleventh floor of DoubleTree by Hilton Amsterdam Centraal Station you can now stay in the hotel room of the future.
Every bit of plastic is replaced by more environmental-friendly alternatives, like wood. From the toothbrushes to the doorhanger – even the electric outlets are made out of our favourite material. Guests will fall a sleep overlooking our impressive Wooden World Map, wake up listening to their favourite songs using our Trobla music amplifier and write down their travel memories in a stylish Wooden Notebook. And what about those handcrafted Wooden Birds in the bathroom. The perfect finishing touch, don’t you think?
We can only hope this is an ongoing trend, because we would love to be part of more inspiring projects like this for sure!
