The SPOOL by Dutch designer Tolhuijs is an artistic and above all sustainable designer lamp made from an old welding coil. This unique lamp is characterized by its rustic and industrial copper look and a shade that diffuses the light beautifully. These shades called SKINS, are available in different colors. Choose from white, yellow, green, blue, black or the deluxe brass version to completely customize the lamp.
The Deluxe version is available in white or black and instead of one of the colored SKINS, has brass welding wire wrapped around the coil. This gives a beautiful industrial look and diffuses the light in a unique way.
Old welding coils are transformed as waste products within social workplaces into a unique design item that looks good in any space. Hang the lamp above the dining table, place the floor lamp as an art piece in the living room or hang the wall lamp as a true eye-catcher in the hallway.

Tolhuijs Design is a sustainable design agency based in Amsterdam. Their products tell a story: the story of sustainable waste and surplus materials and socially responsible production. They work together with prisons and sheltered workshops in the Netherlands, in order to realise a production chain that is honest and helps people with a distance to the labour market.
